Rajit Malhotra, Advisor

Rajit Malhotra is co-founder and managing partner of August Holding, a second-generation, single-family office with investment holdings predominantly in public companies and real estate. Rajit’s mandate is to lead all private investments, including the direct private investment portfolio, venture capital LP relationships, and the in-house venture incubator, which has launched 19 companies and created $1.8 billion in cumulative valuation across the portfolio.

Currently, Rajit is the co-founder & executive chairman of Dyve Biosciences and Innovative Health Diagnostics. He is a co-founder and board member at Truentity and Vegolution. He sits on the board of the UCLA Technology Development Corporation, and has been on the boards of the Dean's Leadership Council at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Southern California Leadership Council, the CAFAM Museum, and the Saban Free Clinic.

From 2002 to 2016, Rajit was at McKinsey & Company, the latter part of which he served as the managing partner for the Southern California region. At McKinsey, Rajit counseled CEOs and boards at large companies across a range of industries and regarding a broad array of topics such as organizational transformation, growth acceleration, commercial excellence and merger management. He currently serves as a senior advisor to McKinsey.

Prior to McKinsey, Rajit was a co-founder and board member of one of India’s largest biotech companies, Shantha Biotech, which was sold to Sanofi Aventis for over $850 million in 2009. He founded his first business while still in college, building it into the largest retail chain of Paint Technology stores in Oman & Dubai.

Rajit holds an MPA/ID from the Kennedy School at Harvard University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a dual BA & BS in finance, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School and the College at the University of Pennsylvania.
